What is this?

Movies Calculator is a fun, personal project by Sergei Chyrkov. It started as a simple question — “how many movies could I actually watch?” — and grew into a site for estimating watch time, comparing franchise runtimes, browsing director and actor filmographies, planning your next binge, and tracking what you watch.

Use the homepage calculator to personalize how many films fit your schedule, or explore famous directors, franchises, actors, streaming habits, and average movie length. Browse the movie catalogue, save titles to your watchlist, sign in to sync across devices, and share a public profile at moviescalculator.com/@username. Optional Pro unlocks achievements, private profiles, and advanced queue planning. Powered by the TMDB API, it is meant to be useful, quick, and a little nerdy.

My Watchlist

My Watchlist is your personal movie queue. Sign in with email or Google to save films, track what you have watched, and sync across devices. Add titles from the movies catalogue, recommendation cards, movie detail popups, or film tables on actor, director, and franchise pages.

• To Watch — your queue with total runtime
• Watched — completed films with a table view and options to move back to the queue or remove
• Queue calculator — estimate how many days it will take to finish your queue based on hours per day and playback speed
• Progress bar — watched vs. total runtime across queued and completed titles
• Completion celebration — a fun message when you mark the last queued film as watched

If you had a local list before signing in, you can merge it with your cloud list on first login. Removing a title shows a short undo toast.

Profiles and Pro

Signed-in users get a profile with display name, avatar, bio, accent color, and optional social links. Visit Profile for watchlist stats and recently watched films, or share your public page at moviescalculator.com/@username.

Movies Calculator Pro is an optional subscription for advanced personal features: streaming availability in your watchlist, a “where to watch my queue” platform summary, private profiles, custom accent colors, and achievements. The calculator, runtime tables, movie browsing, and basic watchlist stay free.

Movies catalogue

The /movies page lets you browse popular films with search and filters for runtime, genre, release decade, and streaming platform. New Releases and Trending rows appear on the default view; applying filters or searching shows matching results in a paginated grid with loading skeletons while data is fetched from TMDB.
