Movies Calculator (https://moviescalculator.com) is operated by 85CO SRL. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Movies Calculator is an informational tool for estimating movie and TV watch time. You can use most of the site without an account. Creating a free account lets you sync your watchlist and profile across devices. Pro is an optional paid subscription for advanced profile and watchlist features; checkout and billing are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Some founding accounts have complimentary Pro access without a Lemon Squeezy billing relationship.

We collect limited information automatically when you visit the site. You may optionally share calculator settings through the URL, and signed-in users provide account and profile information described below.

• Usage and analytics data — page views, approximate location (country/region), device type, browser, referrer, and interactions such as calculator events or link clicks, collected through analytics tools described below only after you consent where required.
• Performance data — page load metrics collected through Vercel Speed Insights to monitor site performance. Speed Insights loads as part of hosting and is not gated by the analytics cookie preference.
• Server and hosting logs — IP address, request time, pages requested, and user agent, retained by our hosting provider for security, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Calculator inputs in the URL — when you adjust the calculator or use Share, your settings may appear in the page URL (for example daily hours, playback speed, time horizon, or average movie length). Anyone with that link can see those settings; we do not store them in a user profile.
• Account and profile data (when signed in) — email address, display name, username, bio, profile photo, social link URLs, and public or private profile setting. We also store accent color and preferred watch country; changing those settings is a Pro feature. Profile photos are stored in a Supabase Storage bucket.
• Watchlist data (when signed in) — queued and watched films with TMDB identifiers, titles, runtimes, release dates, ratings, genres, poster references, streaming-provider references, and status, stored in your account so your list can sync across devices.
• Subscription and billing metadata (Pro) — plan tier, subscription status, billing interval, renewal dates, Lemon Squeezy customer and subscription identifiers, and license key reference. Paying subscribers are billed through Lemon Squeezy. Complimentary Pro accounts may have a Pro plan tier without those billing records. Payment card numbers are handled by Lemon Squeezy, not stored on our servers.
• Achievement progress (Pro) — unlock status derived from your watchlist and profile activity, used to show badges. When a Pro member unlocks an achievement, we may send an email notification automatically if that template is configured. There is no separate in-app opt-out for those emails.
• Email contact record — when you sign in, we sync your email, user id, display name, username, plan tier, and public profile URL to our email provider so we can send account-related mail.
• Cookie consent preference — your analytics choice stored in browser local storage so we can remember whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies.
• Theme preference — light, dark, or system theme choice stored in your browser's local storage.
• Local watchlist data (before sign-in) — if you add films before creating an account, that list may be kept temporarily in your browser until you sign in and choose how to merge it with your cloud list.

We do not intentionally collect:

• Postal addresses or government ID numbers
• Payment card numbers or bank account details (Lemon Squeezy processes subscription payments directly)
• Precise geolocation from your device
• Contents of private messages or files on your device
• Personal information from visitors who do not create an account, contact us, or subscribe to Pro — beyond the automatic usage data described above

Signed-in users can permanently delete their account at any time from Profile → Settings, in the Danger Zone section at the bottom of the page.

Account deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. To confirm, you must type the phrase shown in the confirmation dialog. When deletion completes, you are signed out and redirected away from your profile.

Deleting your account removes your profile, cloud watchlist, achievement notification records, profile photo, and related account settings from our systems, subject to the retention exceptions below. Account deletion also notifies our email provider so the matching contact can be removed.

If you have an active paid Pro subscription, we cancel it when you delete your account so you are not billed again. If that cancellation fails, deletion is paused and you will see an error — try again or contact support. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for any unused portion of your current billing period. Lemon Squeezy may retain billing and payment records according to its own policies and legal obligations.

When deletion succeeds, we also clear the local profile and watchlist copies stored in your browser. Theme preference and cookie consent choice stay in local storage until you clear site data. Shared links to your public profile will stop working once your account and username are removed.

Signed-in users receive a profile URL at moviescalculator.com/@username. New accounts default to public.

When your profile is public, visitors can see your display name, username, avatar, member-since date, bio, social links, watchlist stats, and your full To Watch and Watched lists. There is no separate toggle to share only a summary.

Private profiles are a Pro feature. Free accounts stay public. Pro members can set a profile to private in Profile → Settings so only they can view profile details.

Do not add information to your profile that you do not want others to see when your profile is public.

We use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to run the site, remember preferences, and — with your permission — measure traffic.

When you first visit, a cookie preferences banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize analytics. Your choice is saved in browser local storage. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (when configured), and Ahrefs Analytics load only after you opt in, except where we honor Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals by rejecting analytics automatically.

Vercel Speed Insights and the Product Hunt badge image may load without an analytics opt-in. Speed Insights is used for performance monitoring. The Product Hunt badge is a promotional image loaded from Product Hunt.

Essential technologies include authentication session cookies and storage needed to remember your cookie choice. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect sign-in or other core features.

We use trusted third parties to operate and measure the site. They process data according to their own privacy policies:

• Vercel (Vercel Inc.) — website hosting, server logs, and Speed Insights performance monitoring
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google LLC) — website analytics and event measurement when you consent. Tag Manager loads only when a container ID is configured.
• Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC) — subscription checkout, billing portal, and license keys for paying Pro subscribers
• Supabase (Supabase, Inc.) — authentication, profile and avatar storage, cloud watchlist sync, and achievement notification records for signed-in users
• Loops (Loops, Inc.) — contact records for signed-in users, plus transactional email for sign-in links, confirm-signup messages, Pro welcome emails, and Pro achievement unlock notifications. Sign-in and Pro welcome emails may add your address to the Loops audience used to deliver those messages.
• Ahrefs Analytics — traffic and SEO measurement when you consent
• The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie metadata and poster images served to your browser, including from TMDB's image host
• JustWatch — streaming availability data referenced on some pages, including Pro provider links
• Product Hunt — promotional badge image and link in the site footer

We use collected information to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve Movies Calculator
• Authenticate signed-in users and sync watchlists and profiles
• Understand which pages and features are useful
• Monitor performance, security, and abuse
• Send account-related emails such as sign-in links, Pro welcome messages, and Pro achievement notifications
• Respond to questions or feedback you send us

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for money or other valuable consideration, and we do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Movies Calculator does not operate a data broker business and does not provide user lists, profiles, or contact details to advertisers, marketers, or other data buyers.

Our analytics and hosting providers may process limited technical data on our behalf solely to operate and measure the site, as described in the Third-party services section. That processing is not a sale of your personal information.

Analytics providers retain data according to their default retention settings (often 2–14 months for event-level data unless configured otherwise). Hosting logs are retained for a limited period needed for security and operations, then deleted or aggregated.

If you contact us directly, we keep correspondence only as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of the inquiry.

Account, profile, watchlist, and email-contact data are kept while your account is active. If you delete your account from Profile → Settings or ask us to delete your data, we remove or anonymize associated profile, watchlist, achievement, and contact records within a reasonable time, except where retention is required for billing, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Lemon Squeezy may retain billing records according to its own policies and legal obligations after a subscription ends.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to opt out of certain analytics or targeted advertising.

Signed-in users can delete their account directly in Profile → Settings (Danger Zone). See the Deleting your account section above for what is removed and how subscriptions are handled.

The cookie banner appears until you make a choice. After that, you can change analytics preferences by clearing site data for this site and making a new choice on your next visit.

Because we do not sell or share personal information as defined under applicable privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws), there is no separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” flow—but you can still limit analytics through our cookie preferences or your browser settings.

You can also use browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals where supported; we honor applicable legal opt-out requirements.

Movies Calculator is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

The site is primarily intended for visitors in the United States. If you access the site from other regions, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the site. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
