Frequently asked questions
At 2 hours of watching per day over a 70-year lifetime, you can watch roughly 9,330 movies at a normal playback speed with 2-hour average film length. Use the calculator above to personalize the number based on your daily hours, speed, and time horizon.
The calculator multiplies your daily watch hours by the number of days in your chosen time horizon to get total available minutes. It then divides by the effective runtime of each movie (average length divided by playback speed) and rounds down to a whole number of films.
Yes. Watching at 1.5× speed reduces each film's effective runtime by one-third, so you fit more movies in the same calendar time. At 2× speed, a 2-hour movie counts as 1 hour of watch time.
You can pick an average length (60 min, 90 min, 2 hours, 2h 30min, or 3h+) or choose "Don't care" to see a breakdown across all runtime buckets. Recommendations below match your selected length when possible.
A typical lifetime at 2 hours/day fits the entire MCU (35 films), IMDB Top 250 (250 films), and still leaves thousands of slots. The result subline above compares your count to well-known reference lists automatically.
